BANGALORE, June 26: A 17-member gang of chain-snatchers was arrested by police in a major crackdown in the city. The gang is thought to have been involved in 29 incidents of chain snatching. Gold chains, motorcycles and autorickshaws were among the articles worth Rs 5 lakh recovered from the gang. The miscreants had reportedly taken to crime in thier early teens, and later resorted to chain-snatching, finding it more lucrative. They are all in the 18-20 age group.
