THENI, July 2: The Overseas Economic Co-operation Fund of Japan has sanctioned a sum of Rs 500 crore for forest development in about 100 villages in TN. The project aimed at saving the forests will initially be introduced in 200 villages at a grant of 25 lakhs, according to Pongalur N Palanisamy, Minister of Forest.
