WASHINGTON, July 28: A new atomic bomb with ``capabilities beyond those in the current United States arsenal'' has been designed by a US Government laboratory in New Mexico, according to the Christian Science Monitor. The bomb, carrying an ``old'' nuclear explosive device, would soar on wings like a glider after its release from a radar-dodging B-2 bomber.The project was carried out in the Sandia National Laboratory and, according to the paper, responds to concern over a growth of deeply buried command-and-control and arms-making complexes in Russia, Iran, Libya, Iraq and North Korea.

Mujib killers

DHAKA: A key prosecution witness in the trial of the 1975 putsch, which led to the overthrow of Bangladesh's founding father Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman, on Monday named two Army officers as the killers of the President. Retired Army havildar Mohhamad Quddus Sikder said Mujib was gunned down by sacked captain Bazlul Huda and major Noor on the night of August 15, 1975, on the stairs of his house.

NEW DELHI: The trial of controversial tantrik Chandraswami and his secretary K N agarwal alias `mamaji' in the St Kitts forgery case, would now be held in Tis Hazari Court instead of the special court at Vigyan Bhawan here.
