Vaghela takes potshots at Chhabildas
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
VADODARA, July 28: If the blistering attack Gujarat Chief Minister Shankersinh Vaghela mounted on Sunday on a group within the party that props up his minority government is any indication then he seems to be enjoying himself at the Congress' expense. While visiting Champaner in the Panchmahals district to inaugurate a group water scheme, Vaghela taunted former chief minister Chhabildas Mehta and others of the erstwhile Janata Dal (Gujarat) group in the Congress to leave the party if they did not believe in its ideology. This was said about the same time as State Congress president Prabodh Raval was exhorting party workers to strengthen the Congress at a city unit convention in Vadodara. Rawal was telling them not to hesitate to even launch an agitation against the government if they found that public works were being ignored. Copyright © 1997 Indian Express Newspapers (Bombay) Ltd.
