Dilip Kumar gets highest Pakistan award

ISLAMABAD, August 14: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar and the Melody Queen of yesteryears Noor Jehan have been conferred Pakistan's highest civilian award, `Nishan-e-Imtiaz', on the occasion of the golden jubilee of the country's Independence. The two were among 59 personalities from different walks of life who have been honoured with various Pakistani civilian awards by President Farooq Ahmed Khan Leghari, a presidential house communique said here yesterday. Dilip Kumar is the first ever Indian actor to have been conferred with this award despite the fact that Pakistan has banned screening of Indian films since 1965.
