NAGERCOIL, Aug. 14: The Centre has been urged by the National Federation of Rubber Producers (NFRPS) to stop the import of rubber tyres and mitigate the problems faced by the domestic tyre manuacturers and rubber growers. Currently, the domestic rubber prices are at an all time low of Rs 32 a kg, while in 1995 it was Rs 68, and Rs 50 the subsequent year.
