THANE, Jan 2: A housewife was burned to death in her kitchen here late this evening.According to the police, Dimpal Premkumar Upadhyaya (23) was cooking in her residence at Shiv Krupa chawl in the Indira Nagar locality this evening. Suddenly the stove flames engulfed her.
Her husband, Premkumar Rajnarayan Upadhyaya (25), who was present in the house, made an attempt to save Dimpal's life. In the process he too was seriously burnt. He has been hospitalised.
Firemen rushed to the spot to douse the flame. According to the police there was no explosion. The sudden flames from the stove apparently caught Dimpal's dress and within minutes engulfed her.
