Farooq takes up cause of J-K PCO owners with Govt

ENS

NEW DELHI: J-K Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah on Monday met Home Minister L.K. Advani and discussed the ‘‘plight’’ of numerous STD and PCO holders in the state who ‘‘are now left with no alternate means of livelihood’’ following the Centre’s decision to cancel their facilities.

‘‘Something will have to be done for these PCO holders till this facility is restored,’’ he told Advani. Later, he told mediapersons that the Centre was considering an alternative livelihood for those rendered jobless after the STD and ISD connections were snapped from PCOs in the state.
