After launching the gadget at the Auto Expo 2002, the divisional manager of sales (mobile communications), Blaupunkt Ajay Sahney said: “After its worldwide launch, the MP3 player would soon be available at select dealers from Blaupunkt, priced around Rs 10,000 and the charging kit for Rs 4,000 (appox).” He further said the advantage of the set is that it has an auxillary input and can be carried easily. One can connect it to the speakers in the car and otherwise earphones can be used. As for the MMC, these are already available in the market but one comes free with the set. Operating on batteries, it performs all functions of a walkman/discman—select songs, pause, repeat, forward or rewind.
