The Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad (ATS) told the (MCOCA) court on Tuesday it was not probing the role of Feroze Ghaswala in the 2006 Aurangabad arms haul case.

The automobile mechanic, arrested in May 2006 at Nizamuddin Railway Station with 4 kg of RDX and four detonators, was recently freed by a trial court in New Delhi.

Soon after the acquittal, the jail authorities in Delhi told ATS to check if his custody was required in connection with the arms haul.

ATS told the MCOCA court that Ghaswala had no role in the case. There are several cases registered against him across the country, including a terror case in Gujarat. “(But) All cases against him have been disposed of,” said special public prosecutor Raja Thakare.

Ghaswala was accused of traveling to Pakistan with aides for terror training, but this could not be proved.
