Ahmedabad : Representatives of various groups, including of the state government, on Monday attended a hearing in New Delhi called by environmentalist Sunita Narain, who heads a five-member committee formed by Union Ministry of Environment and Forests to probe alleged environment violations by the Adani Port and Special Economic Zone (APSEZ) in Mundra, Kutch.

Sources present at the meet said all those who were called for the hearing were present, including company officials and members of the two local groups that had made complaints. The main issues discussed were about alleged distortions of the CRZ line, destruction of mangroves, shoreline changes and the forced change of routes for fishermen that were reportedly brought about by the large infrastructure project.

The committee is expected to visit the area in January.
