The group has named itself as Ludhiana Foodie Group where husbands are seen actively cooking and trying new recipes apart from their wives.
In today’s session, over 60 items were in the mega lunch cooked by members from home while the barbeque session was a on-the-spot feature. Chicken, lamb, prawn and veg items were cooked on the spot, said Preet Chandoke, a member of the group who runs a software company. His wife Neetu Chandoke came prepared with cheese and salami platter from home.
Chandoke’s six guests from Columbia, who had come in his office as a technology transfer group, also ate the potluck lunch. A few guests came from Jalandhar as well with their special items of chicken.
Harjinder Singh Kukreja, director of Yellow Chillies, came with Harripa Paneer and a chicken variety which he cooked at home. Kukreja said, “The variety was well appreciated, so I will now try it in my restaurant as well.”
Nishan Jairath, a city-based industrialist, was also seen enjoying the veg as well as non-veg items cooked by his friends while he himself had tried blueberry desert and veg tossed salad.
Swastik and Maninder Sobti, owners of Cake Square, are also part of the foodie group.
Apart from Ludhiana Foodie Group, a Ludhiana Wine Society has been formed by city residents. The society also gathered at the farm for a wine-tasting session. Five varieties of red and white wine were sponsored by Fratelli.
