Mumbai FC, currently 8th in the table will look to improve their position after their inspiring performance holding Kolkata giants Mohun Bagan to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. The performance against Bagan will be important as they dominated the second half against their opponents. On the contrast, ONGC FC come into the match with contrasting results. They beat defending champions Dempo SC 1-0 in Round VI before going 0-5 down to East Bengal in Round VII.
Mumbai FC will be keen to exploit the opponent’s backline which boasts of the worst defensive record in the league conceding 17 goals in 7 games.
However, the hosts however will have to be wary of their opponents who will look to get out of the relegation zone. Coach Khalid Jameel praised his boys after their performance against Mohun Bagan the other day. Striker Yusif Yakubu and Abhishek Yadav have been in great form and the Coach will hope they continue to torment the rival’s defenders. ONGC’s attack hasn’t been at their best and have scored the third least amount of goals in the league.
