On November 29, Praveen Kumar, against whom many cases of forgery have been registered with the Mansa Police, was arrested after the police laid a trap in the Traffic Lines office, Sector 29.
On November 28, a challan was issued to Praveen Kumar at the light point near Chandigarh Domestic Airport for bearing a red light without a permission slip following a minor accident that he had with a truck. Though the two reached a compromise, the police noticed that the car had a red light but did not have a permission slip. Thus the car was challaned.
After reading the news about Praveen Kumar’s accident, on November 29, Mansa Police contacted the UT police saying that in June 2012, cases of forgery had been registered against Praveen and three others who allegedly set up a fake enterprise involving sim-cards in Mansa and robbed residents of nearly 20 lakh and fled.
