Ahmedabad : Shweta Bhatt, the wife of suspended IPS officer Sanjiv Bhatt, has said she knows that contesting against Chief Minister Narendra Modi in Maninagar will be a “fight between unequals”.

“I know it is a fight between unequals, but that is exactly my agenda. I am neither a politician nor a great orator, I am a just a woman who wants people to think, rethink, and fight against the wrong happening in the state. I want to remove fear that exists among Gujaratis,” says 40-year-old Shweta.

“The people in Gujarat are living in fear. There is nobody who wants to go against Modi because they are scared of experiencing what I experienced in my life. Any finger raised against him is broken, so people remain silent,” says Shweta, a trained classical dancer.

Admitting that the arrest of her husband in the “fake affidavit” case had prompted her to enter politics, she says, “I was happy living a normal housewife’s life and supporting my husband and children but now I want to be a part of the mechanism to bring about a change.”
