Metro link for Mohali gets Cabinet nod

Chandigarh : The Punjab Cabinet on Wednesday gave approval to link SAS Nagar (Mohali) with the Chandigarh Metro Rail Project at a cost of Rs 1427 crore. The total length of the metro rail covering the tricity i.e. Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali was 37.57 kms to be completed at a cost of Rs 10,900 crore.

Two corridors will be developed, one from Capital Complex, Chandigarh to Gurdwara Singh Shaheedan Sector 70 in Mohali having a length of 12.49 kms, of which 3.97 km will be in Mohali city.

Similarly, the second corridor will be from Mullanpur (Punjab portion) to Grain Market Panchkula (Haryana) having a length of 25.07 kms, of which 3.87 km will be in Mullanpur.
