Lucknow : Two jail warders thrashed the driver and conductor of a UPSRTC bus after they did not stop the vehicle for them in Lucknow Wednesday. Both jail warders — A K Yadav and Sita Saran — are posted at Unnao District Jail.

An FIR has been lodged against both at Hussainganj police station, where they have been detained.

Irked over the incident, locals staged a protest and blocked the road. The situation came under control only after police took both accused with them and assured strict action against them.

On Wednesday morning, both warders waved to the UPSRTC bus at Nishatganj crossing but the driver did not stop the vehicle. The warders then took a tempo and followed the bus. When the bus was waiting at Hussainganj crossing, both warders pulled bus driver Baldev Yadav and conductor Satish Chand from outside the bus and thrashed them, Inspector, Hussainganj police station, Ram Pradeep Yadav said. They later took the tempo and went to Charbagh. Police said the bus driver followed the warders and started to shout at them when they stopped at a paan shop. Locals caught hold of both the warders and thrashed them. The police also arrived and took the warders in custody.
