Thieves strike in posh area, victim says loss Rs 3.75 lakh

Ludhiana : Thieves struck in one of the most posh localities of the city, Bhai Randhir Singh Nagar, I-Block, and made away with goods and gold ornaments worth more than Rs 3.75 lakh on late Thursday night.

Reportedly, owner Tarlok Nath Arora, a retired vice-principal from DAV College, Nakodar, had been out of the house for the past two days. When he returned on Friday morning, the locks of his house were found broken.

The thieves fled away with Rs 75,000 in cash, gold ornaments, laptop, wrist watches and other goods. “My total loss amounts to around Rs 3.75 lakh,” said Arora.

The police began investigations and took fingerprints for testing. A dog squad also visited the site but nothing concrete was found.

Mandeep Singh, SHO, Sarabha Nagar police station, said, “Investigation is on but nothing concrete has come up till now.”
