Lucknow : The special investigation bureau (SIB) of the police co-operative cell, on Saturday, moved a local court of Lucknow, seeking directions to attach the properties of former BSP ministers Rangnath Mishra and Chandradev Ram Yadav, who are wanted in the Labour and Construction Co-operative Federation (LACCFED) scam.

P Gangwar, Deputy SP of the special investigation bureau, said District and Sessions Judge K K Sharma fixed January 4 for hearing of the case. Both former ministers were declared absconders in November.

On Friday, both former ministers had filed surrender applications in a local court of Lucknow, following which the court fixed January 4 as the next date of hearing.

Chandradev Ram Yadav was small-scale industries minister, while Rangnath Mishra was secondary education minister in the Mayawati government. During investigation, the agency found that they had allegedly taken kickbacks in return for allocating work to LACCFED in 2010-2011. In October, the agency had obtained arrest warrants against them on the basis of evidence collected.

Simultaneously, raids were conducted at their residences but neither could be found.

The agency has already been arrested former labour minister Badshah Singh on similar charges.
