A group of these candidates has sent a written complaint to the office of the officiating Director Health Services Dr Rajiv Vadehra and the special Secretary, Health D K Tiwari who was also a part of the interviewing panel on December 18.
The aggrieved students alleged that while the Medical Council of India (MCI) has clarified that all those medicos who have done their MBBS course from institutes outside India be treated equivalent to those who have done their course from Indian institutes, yet the GMSH-16 authorities deducted 20 marks of every candidates who had done his respective course from any foreign institute.
Secondly, they alleged that the GMSH authorities had not come up with any clear cut policy on the basis of which the doctors who are already working on the same posts have been given an extension. “Certain in-house candidates have been given extension arbitrarily while others have been left out,” said one of the doctors.
There were 37 seats for the house job that had been advertised, for which 165 doctors turned up and 19 in-house doctors were given extension.
When contacted Dr Rajiv Vadera said, “We are aware of the matter and have already forwarded the details to the competent authority. The matter is being looked into and the needful will be done”.
