UT to launch emergency response services soon

Chandigarh : The UT Administration will soon start Emergency Response Services in the city which will be then synchronised with the neighbouring states of Punjab and Haryana.

For the purpose, a meeting was held on Wednesday wherein the UT Home Secretary-cum-Health Secretary, Anil Kumar along with others, including Dr Raj Bahadur, Director Principal, Govt Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, Chandigarh and Dr Rajiv Vadehra, Director Health Services participated and deliberated upon the modalities of the services.

The Expression of Interest will be called by UT, Chandigarh.

Under the services, 10 ambulances will be launched in city in a phased manner, five for Advanced Life Support (ALS) first and five for Basic Life Support (BLS) in the second phase. These will be launched in addition to the existing ambulance service being provided by the Chandigarh Administration.
