In addition to the fact that none of the schools — except St Kabir Public School — put up a list of successful candidates on notice boards, parents also rued the meagre number of seats reserved for general category.
The draw of lots took place at 3.30 pm for UKG class in St John’s High School, LKG classes for Sacred Heart Senior Secondary School, Carmel Convent and St Anne's Convent School and for per-nursery in St Kabir Public School.
After the process, many parents left the school premises smiling, but a majority of them were disheartened .
Sonia Saxena of Panckhula, who was standing disappointed out side Sacred Heart School said, “These schools have kept minimum seats for general category students. It is not fair. First they invite applications for Rs 100 , but later on give less then 50 per cent share to general students.”
These school had sold over 5720 forms for 800 seats and around 5620 forms were submitted.
In St Kabir, 48 seats were kept for siblings, two for wards, three seats for Alumni, 22 for RTE students and just 15 seats for general category.
Disgruntled Ravi Chaudhary, standing outside St Kabir School, said: “We can call it bad luck as my son’s name did not come in draw of lots, but if schools have to provide less number of seats they should invite minimum number of applications for admissions. This will help the parents to prepare their mind.”
Another disappointed parent, Monika said: “I had applied in Sacred Heart school and Carmel Convent School, but my girl remained unsuccessful. General category seats are very less.”
