The programme began with a Ganesh Vandana performed by Gurukul Global School Manimajra and witnessed a host of activities including patriotic songs by Navodya Vidalaya Samiti- 25, a Giddha by Government Model Senior Secondary School in Karsan students, Haryanvi dance by students of GMSSS-46 and a group song by the students of GMSSS-16. The bhangra performance of GSSS-Khuda Lahora was the highlight of the evening.
While addressing the audience, Chief Guest K K Sharma said that it was on this historic day that the Constitution of India was officially enforced, making India a Sovereign, Democratic Republic.
“What we need, hence, is to ensure harmonious development of our students so as to optimally tap their intellectual, moral and scientific faculties. There has thus to be a Continuous Comprehensive Evaluation of the child and this, in turn, requires us to provide different fora to the students so that they get adequate opportunities for balanced development of their personality,” Sharma added.
Also present on the occasion were home secretary Anil Kumar, finance-cum-education secretary V K Singh, UT deputy commissioner Mohmmad Shayin, Gurpreet Kaur Sapra, director of higher education, DPI (s) Upkar Singh and other dignitaries.
