The city police have deported an Iranian national who was allegedly overstaying in the country for the past one year. Police identified him as Edin Abufazal Dhayomi (32). He was deported to Iran on February 8 after investigation confirmed his overstay. Acting on a tip-off, a team of Cantonment police comprising havaldars Sharad Dedge, Ramesh Ovhal and Sunil Chikhle, arrested him in the city. Investigation revealed that Edin visited the country on a tourist visa in December 2011 to meet his mother, who is an Indian. He travelled to Bangalore and Goa and continued to stay in India even after his visa expired.
