Indo-Pak expo from today, over 70 Pak stalls this time

Ludhiana : Bilateral trade between India and Pakistan has increased by a whopping 66% as compared to previous year. Looking at the good response of the previous year’s Indo-Pak expo (IPEX), this year the stalls by Pakistani participants in Ludhiana have increased from 50 to more than 70.

A total of 100 participants would participate in IPEX-13 starting from Friday and slated to continue till February 18 at Hotel Gulmor, and the rest would be from Punjab, said Upkar Singh Ahuja, convener, Ludhiana, zone, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

He said, “This is the ninth such expo in the series of trade fairs being organised by PHD chamber to promote bilateral trade amongst the participating countries and second in Ludhiana. Last time, the footfall was more than 50,000 in Ludhiana and 50 participants from Pakistan had participated. This number has increased to more than 70 this time, looking at the business generated.”

The next edition of IPEX will be organised in Jalandhar from March 7 to 11. Dalip Sharma, regional director, PHD Chamber, said the expo was spread over an area of 1,100 sqms.
