RTI reply from office of assistant divisional fire officer dated Feb 14 clearly on the RTI filed on Feb 7, said, “The buildings including Punjab Urban Development Authority complex, Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) office, ESIC Hospital (central government hospital), Punjab Pollution Control Board office and bus stand have been issued fire safety No-Objection Certificates. Other than these buildings, all others for which information was sort were never issued fire safety No-Objection Certificate.”
The government buildings never issued fire safety No-Objection Certificate are all buildings of Municipal corporation in zone A, B,C and D, Ludhiana Improvement Trust office, Commissioner of police office, Deputy commissioner office, Civil Hospital, Lodhi Club, Satluj Club, (Punjab State Power Corporation Limited) PSPCL Office, Employees' Provident Fund Organization office, (Life Insurance Corporation) LIC office, Income Tax, (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) BSNL office, Excise and sales tax office, Transport nagar telephone exchange building, Mata Rani telephone exchange building and Guru Nanak Stadium also.
No one including government officials or fire department will be responsible if a major fire tragedy taken place in any of these buildings.
