Finalising the funding pattern for the Rs 1,591 crore project in June, the state government had directed
Ghaziabad Development Authority to contribute a maximum of Rs 466 crore in it, Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation to pay Rs 165 crore, UP State Industrial Development Corporation to pay Rs 65 crore and UPHDB to contribute Rs 295 crore. The rest Rs 600 crore will be paid by Government of India and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation.
Housing Commissioner Dr P V Jagmohan, in a press statement, said UPHDB board members approved a proposal regarding contribution of its share of Rs 295 crore in Ghaziabad Metro project today. The meeting was chaired by S N Shukla, principal secretary, Housing and Urban Planning Department. The board also approved the budget for financial year 2012-13.
