"As the investigations are still on, I won't be able to talk anything about the perpretrators of the explosions. I would also appeal to people that they should not believe in any rumours in this regard," said Chavan.
Chavan said the material collected from the blast sites has been sent for forensic tests and CCTV footage obtained are being examined.
When reporters raised the issue of non-functional CCTV cameras at the blast site, he said, "I have discussed the issue of CCTV cameras with the city mayor and have directed the civic body to make sure that they are maintained properly."
The CCTV cameras at two of the blast sites which were installed were found to be non-functional. This has been seen as a major loss in the investigation process, police sources said.
"I have spoken to former home minister P Chidambaram and Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde. Today I held discussions with city Police Commissioner, ATS chief and DGP," he said.
