New Delhi:: India has come out of a major embarrassing situation with Denmark deciding to lift its ban on the adoption of children from India. Denmark had banned its citizens from adopting Indian children in July this year following allegations that a Pune-based widower had surrendered two of his children to a local orphanage in exchange of money. These two children were adopted by a Danish family in 2004. “Those allegations were wrong. We had provided all the relevant documents to the Denmark authorities and they were convinced of the facts,” Deputy director of Central Adoption Resource Authority (CARA) Jagannath Pati told The Indian Express.
