Mumbai, November 12 A Canadian model was booked for rash and negligent driving by the Worli police after the Maruti Swift she was driving collided with a mobike at Worli Naka early on Monday, resulting in injuries to a police constable riding pillion on the bike.

While actor Salman Khan, a friend of the model according to the police, was spotted at the scene of the accident, the police rubbished speculation that he was travelling with the model in the car.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) K L Prasad said, “From photographs taken after the accident, it is clear that Khan was at the scene. However, officers at Worli police station have informed me that he was not in the Maruti Swift and has no role in the accident.”

A statement released by Salman Khan reads, “I was driving back after pack-up when I saw a huge crowd at Worli Junction. I asked around and found out that there had been an accident. I got out to see if anybody needed help. That was all.”
