New Delhi, December 28:: The BJP on Friday said the victories in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat were just trailers before the Lok Sabha polls and the countdown has begun for the Congress and UPA.

"The victory is not limited to Himachal and Gujarat. It is a trailer of Lok Sabha elections," senior BJP leader Sushma Swaraj told reporters here as early trends indicated BJP heading towards majority in Himachal Pradesh.

She said the message of the victories is that the countdown had begun for the UPA government at the Centre and the Congress in particular.

"Common man is facing numerous problems under the three-and-a-half-year of UPA rule," she said adding the "common man has taken revenge on Congress for cheating them by not implementing the promises they had made".

BJP workers at the party headquarters here celebrated the victory in Himachal Pradesh by beating drums, bursting crackers and distributing sweets. The celebrations, however, were on a smaller scale compared to the one that erupted after the Gujarat win.

Swaraj said the party will win the assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Delhi and after that will be victorious in "badi Dilli" (Lok Sabha).

"Rooting out corruption and non-development were the issues on which BJP contested the elections," she said.

Bollywood actor of yesteryears Suresh Oberoi added some colour to the celebrations at the party headquarters.

"It is a win for the good work BJP has done in the state," Oberoi said.
