For an unprecedented 17th Test victory in-a-row, the Aussies have to pull off the second-highest run chase in the history.

•369— No team has ever chased more than that to win a game on Australian soil (even Don Bradman’s The Invincibles didn’t have to score more than 404 at Leeds in 1948).

OVER 400

•Only 3 teams (in 1862 Tests), have scored more than that in the fourth innings to win.

• 418: West Indies hold that record (for 7) to beat Australia by three wickets (St John’s, 2002-03).

• 404/3: Australia were the first team to win a Test by scoring more than 400—beat England by seven wickets, Leeds, 1948.

• 406/4: India, the second team to do the same, won by six wickets over West Indies, Port-of-Spain, 1975-76.

•It has happened 13 times so far. Of them three won, four drew, six lost.

• At the WACA: The record of highest fourth inning total to win here is held by Australia - 342/8 for eight vs India, 1977-78. won by two wickets.
