CPM slams ISRO for launching Israeli spy satellite
New Delhi:: The CPI (M) on Tuesday attacked the Government for “collaborating” with Israel and accused it of aiding Tel Aviv’s military ambitions by launching its spy satellite. The party said the Government was maintaining a “shameful silence on the criminal blockade” of Gaza Strip but at the same time “collaborating with Israel to enhance its military capability.”
“The UPA Government should demand an end to the Israeli blockade of the Gaza Strip forthwith. It should call for an urgent Security Council session to discuss the matter,” the CPI(M) Politburo said in a statement here.
The launch (on Monday) of Israeli satellite TecSar “shows how India is aiding the military efforts of Israel. The satellite has a capability to track activities in Iran and the region.”
Maintaining that the Israeli blockade violated “all international and humanitarian norms,” the CPI(M) said Israel was treating 1.5 million people of the Gaza Strip “worse than a colonial power.” The UN should immediately intervene, the party demanded.
