NEW DELHI: The ruling Left Front in West Bengal is all set to storm back with three-fourths majority securing 219 of the 294 seats in the Assembly polls, if exit polls by two TV news channels and a daily are to be believed.

The ruling CPI(M)-led coalition is set to bag 219 seats with a 50 per cent vote share, leaving the Trinamool Congress-BJP alliance (36 seats), Congress and allies (31) distant second and third respectively, according to the poll conducted by Star News, Star Ananda, Anand Bazar Patrika and Ac-Nielsen, a release from the channel said.

The exit poll for the first phase, which saw polling in45 constituencies, gave the Left 40 seats, one to Trinamool Congress, three to Congress and one to others. Nearly 1,000 people in about 45 seats were surveyed for the poll, it said, adding the calculation for the overall seat prediction and the vote share was based on a combination of the opinion poll and exit poll.
