Chennai: : Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi condoled the death of noted Tamil writer S Rangarajan alias ‘Sujatha’. In an official release here on Thursday, Karunanidhi expressed “shock and deep despair” on hearing about the demise of the noted writer. “By writing hundreds of short stories, many plays and articles on science and technology in Tamil, he did great service to the language,” Karunanidhi said. He also recalled the writer’s association with Tamil films and said he had worked with some of the leading personalities in the industry. “Some of his novels were even made into films,” Karunanidhi stated in an apparent reference to his works, including Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo.
