The rescue team has found a life raft, life jackets, tarpaulins, gas cylinders, sea survival kit, buoys and lifeboats, according to a press release from the Directorate General of Shipping.
However, the release added that nothing denoting the fate of those on board was found.
MV Rezzak had left Russia’s Novorossisk port on February 17 on a 24-hour journey to Turkey’s Bartin port. It was carrying steel billets.
Quoting the Governor of Bartin, the statement said the weather on February 16 and 17 was “very bad”.
MV Rezzak is a 100 metres long ship with a large engine capacity, which enables it to carry a large quantity of fuel on board, the DG said.
Bartin police and civilian authorities have carried out patrolling of the area and found nothing so far, he added.
Neither the ports nor the owner have received any distress call from the ship.
