Dehradun, April 13: Uma Bharati, chief of Bharatiya Janshakti Party, has decided to lead a march to Tibet from Malari in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on April 15 to show solidarity with the Tibetan people in their struggle against China.

“She would address a public meeting at Joshimath on April 15 before moving towards the Tibet border. Hundreds of party workers would reach Joshimath to participate in the march,” said N D Mishra, Uttarakhand coordinator of the party. The former Madhya Pradesh CM is currently camping at the Kalimath temple in Rudraprayag district.

Meanwhile, Chamoli district administration is all geared up to curb attempts by individuals and groups to go near the border.

“The border areas are notified where movement without proper permission is strictly prohibited. Anyone trying to violate the law would be arrested,” said D S Garbayal, District Magistrate of Chamoli.
