




“I want to inform the House that barring foodgrains procured by the FCI and state governments, wheat procured by private contractors will not be loaded in railway wagons,” he declared during his reply to discussions on Demands for Grants passed by the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
He said that the Railways was ready to provide any help to bring relief to people from inflation. It is the duty of state governments to carry out the task of procurement. He said Railways has received a huge number of indents from the FCI and have begun loading foodgrains in the wagons.
“We will not allow dearth of wheat in any part of the country. There has been enough production of wheat in India including Bihar. State governments should ensure enough procurement to meet the needs of their people,” said the minister thanking the Delhi Government for launching a drive against hoarding.
