JAI PANDA was not seen in the House on Friday, but there were five unstarred questions listed against his name. They pertained to the increasing incidence of suicide because of mental disorders and the proposal to set up a countrywide network to retrieve organs from brain dead patients. He also wanted to know whether the Government was launching a health insurance scheme for the beneficiaries of CGHS. His other queries related to the status of exports of coir products in India and the modernisation plans of the National Mineral Development Corporation.

SUPRIYA SULE was away in connection with party work.

RAJEEV CHANDRASEKHAR was not seen in the House, although he was present in the Parliament complex. He had four unstarred questions against his name including one on the losses suffered in terms of life, property and crops because of unseasonal rains in south India. His other questions pertained to the number of polio cases reported since 2007 and on the ship breaking industry in India. He also sought to know whether there was any proposal to withdraw incentives for steel exporters in view of the rising steel prices.

KANIMOZHI returned from her trip with President Pratibha Patil, but was not seen in the House.

Lok Sabha

RAHUL GANDHI was on a tour DEEPENDER HOODA was seen chatting with BJP’s Shahnawaz Hussain, who had walked to the side of the Treasury Benches.

PRIYA DUTT was present and had an unstarred question on demand and supply of power in the country. 

SACHIN PILOT and SANDEEP DIKSHIT were present.

NAVEEN JINDAL was not seen in the House. He had a starred question on whether the Government proposed to launch a scheme called Dhan Laxmi as a conditional cash transfer scheme for the girl child. His unstarred questions sought information on FDI in public and private sector banks and insurance companies, proposed large scale reductions in Lutyens Bungalow Zone acreage, review of duty drawback rates and public sector banks’ plans to get into broking.

 

MILIND DEORA was not seen in the House. He had two unstarred questions — on whether the Government was proposing to reduce interest rates on home loans and whether it had received requests for scrapping Banking Cash Transaction Tax  JYOTIRADITYA SCINDIA, JITIN PRASADA, SHAMIK LAHIRI, SUKHBIR SINGH BADAL, OMAR ABDULLAH, MEHBOOBA MUFTI, DUSHYANT SINGH, MANVENDRA SINGH and AKHILESH PRASAD were missing.
