New Delhi, April 29 : Though most of the stalwarts of the Delhi Daredevils preferred to skip the optional practice session at Ferozeshah Kotla on Tuesday, South Africa’s AB de Villiers decided to sweat it out for his first net session that went on for more than an hour.

“I am in a good form and have been batting well. We recently won the Pro Twenty20 tournament and the entire season I have scored. I followed the games Delhi played,” the 24-year-old South African said after the practice session.

“Twenty20 is all about knowing your own game. You should know your strengths and weaknesses. I have played a lot in the sub -continent and I play spinners very well. So my game plan is to stick to the basics,”de Villiers said.

The South African batsman believes that there’s need to have a big hitter later on. “Everyone wants their best batsmen to bat at the top order but if they fail then you should have someone in the lower order who can make the foundation strong ,” he said.
