: The BMC has issued clean-up marshall identification cards to 1,000 college students on Monday evening. Though the students can only warn the people who litter and cause nuisance by spitting, urinating, defecating or even washing their vehicles on public roads, they cannot fine the violators. “It’s great that the youth are participating in such programmes. We can’t always depend on the government. It’s our duty to stand up and do something for our city,” aid Sherya Singh, MMK college.

The clean-up marshalls, appointed by the BMC, are deployed to keep the city clean. “It’s a great initiative by the BMC. Even people are co-operating with us to keep the city clean,” said Mamta Padya, one of the clean-up marshalls. Prasad Vedpathak, Bhartiya Vidhya Peeth College, said, “We need to encourage more youth as it helps our city to a greater extent.”
