Lucknow: : An application has been filed in court stating that SP MLA Shadab Fatima’s son Kashif Abbas, who ran a Tata Safari over 10 persons and mowed down four of them, is a minor. While Kashif’s lawyer puts his age at 17, the police have declared his age to be 19. The court will hear the application on Monday.

Assistant Prosecuting Officer A K Kapoor said, “To support his claim, the family members have submitted a photocopy of Kashif’s high school certificate along with the application.”

A bail application of Kashif, who is presently lodged at Lucknow District Jail, has also been filed in the court.

Senior Advocate Akhilesh Awasthi said, “According to a new ruling, a person below 18 years of age is a juvenile.”
