BJP as an open book

Posted online: Monday, May 05, 2008 at 0009 hrs Print Email

In the party with a difference, ever-squabbling BJP leaders have found a new way to be one-up over one another. Former BJP president Murli Manohar Joshi is set to release a book, close on the heels of the much-talked-about one by NDA’s prime ministerial candidate L K Advani. “I will not go to the doorstep of Sonia Gandhi or for that matter any other politician with an invite, with the sole exception of former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee,” Joshi underlines to the people he meets these days. “My guests (at the book launch function scheduled for May 7) would be basically scientists and the people associated with the subject matter of the book titled ‘Science, Sustainability and the Indian National Resurgence’,” he says. Just in case Advani still hadn’t got the message, Joshi adds: “I would not go to Mumbai or Bangalore to promote my book.”
