Jaipur, May 5: Sohail Tanvir's world record Twenty20 bowling figures of 6 for 14 on Sunday left even his rival team Chennai Super Kings captain M S Dhoni spellbound, who said he could only clap and appreciate the Pakistani pacer's feat.

"What can I say, I can only clap and appreciate. He (Tanvir) put pressure on us early on by bowling in the right areas. We could not recover from there," Dhoni said after his side lost by eight wickets to Rajasthan Royals in Jaipur.

Tanvir's bowling figures read 4-0-14-6 by claiming wickets of Parthiv Patel, Stephen Fleming, S Vidyut, Albie Morkel, Muttiah Muralitharan and Makhaya Ntini and Dhoni said he hoped the Pakistani pacer would not repeat Sunday's performance in their second leg in Chennai.

"Hopefully, he would not get wickets in Chennai when they (Rajasthan Royals) come there," said the India ODI captain.

Dhoni said his batsmen failed on Sunday and a score of over 150 should have given his bowlers a defendable target.

"I don't want to put pressure on my bowlers. We know our bowling resources are limited. Our batsmen did not put up a good total. We did not have partnerships and were out on some bad shots. But it happens in a Twenty20 game," he said.

Tanvir said he had never thought of achieving his feat on Sunday but he knew that he would be able to exploit a bit of moisture early on from the Sawai Mansingh stadium pitch in Jaipur.

"I had not thought of doing this. It was a very very special performance. I knew that I would get some help with a bit of moisture on the pitch," he said.

Asked what his captain Shane Warne told him before the match, Tanvir said, "He (Warne) said I will be given only one over with new ball and the remaining at the dead. But after I got two wickets in my first over I asked him for another over and I got another wicket," he said.

Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne also heaped praise on Tanvir for the match-winning performance.

"It was an outstanding bowling by him (Tanvir). Getting six wickets in a (Twenty20) match, what can you say," Warne said in appreciation of his demolition man.

"His opening spell put the pressure on them (Super Kings). He got a wicket from the first ball, it was great."
