MUMBAI: : Maharashtra State Human Rights Commission (MSHRC) in its order on the complaint filed against Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray has recommended the police to re-examine all cases registered against MNS workers and the role of Thackeray as a conspirator. The MSHRC order was passed in a complaint filed by social activist Medha Patkar against Thackeray and the police for not taking action against the leader for his recent tirade against north Indians in the city.

The MSHRC has recommended that the state police take prompt action in the future by registering cases against the offending workers and leaders of political parties.

The MSHRC has also directed the principal secretary of the Relief and Rehabilitation Department of Mantralaya to ensure that all those persons who had suffered losses to person or properties during that period should promptly get relief. The Commission has directed the principal secretary to submit a compliance report within a month.

In February this year, MNS leader Raj Thackeray through his speech instigated riots in several parts of the state against north Indians.
