CHANDIGARH, MAY 19: It was a murder plot that could put movie script writers to shame. Chandigarh property dealer Baljinder Singh Sandhu got his wife Anuradha killed by his domestic help Vijay alias Nikku, who then killed another employee of the house to fake his death.

The police on Monday arrested Sandhu as well as the Nikku who was declared on Sunday after mutilated body was recovered near a canal in Ropar. The body was, in fact, that of Sunil, who also worked for Sandhu. The police also Ashok, who helped Nikku kill the two. The police believe Sandhu got his wife killed so that he could stay with his lover.

Sunil was threatened by Nikku and Ashok, who took him to Ropar on a bike and bludgeoned him to death, the police said. “Sunil looked like somewhat Vijay and that’s why they smashed his face with stones. Vijay also left his mobile phone, pan card and voter id card deliberately with the body. Even Vijay’s father and sister failed to figure that it was not his body,” said UT SSP S S Srivastava.

“We have arrested Baljinder on the basis of circumstantial evidence as all evidence pointed to his involvement,” added the SSP.
