Meghalaya CM asks Ramadoss for 30% reservation in regional medical college
Shillong: : Meghalaya Chief Minister Donkupar Roy said he will meet Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss and demand 30 per cent reservation of seats in the North East Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS).

Roy said the state Government should be selecting candidates on merit basis as in other states. NEIGRIHMS Director R N Salhan had, however, said the seats would be filled through competitive examinations conducted with the assistance of JIPMER, Puducherry.
The Khasi Students Union is also demanding 36 per cent reservation of MBBS seats for Meghalaya and has threatened agitation if the union health ministry fails to concede to its demand by July 4.
