Two teachers arrested in stripping case
Thiruvananthapuram: : The city police on Monday registered a case against two teachers of St. Mary's Higher Secondary School here, in connection with stripping a girl in public in their search for a mobile phone, which is banned on the campus.
The girl, who had attempted suicide last week, is still battling for life in a hospital here.
The case was registered under the Juvenile Justice Act. The police have recorded the statements of teachers and students.
The girl attempted suicide as she could not bear the humiliation meted out to her by the teachers.
Police sources said the teachers would be charged for abetting the girl to attempt suicide, if found necessary in the course of the investigation.
The State Human Rights Commission had also registered a suo motu case in the incident.
