MUMBAI: : A day after the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Cuffe Parade received a threat to blow up the building, the Mumbai Police said that the message was sent by a person who has given a contact number from Uttaranchal in the e-mail. Investigations have revealed that the e-mail was sent using a pre-paid Internet card with a “very dynamic” IP (Internet protocol) address.

A police official said: “There is a possibility of this being a hoax letter sent by an insider from the WTC .”

The police, however, are not taking any chances and have stepped up security at all vital installations in the city. The Joint Commissioner of Police (ATS) K P Raghuvanshi, said: “Every threat is taken seriously.”
