AHMEDABAD: The Indian Cricket League (ICL) has proposed to lease the Sardar Patel Stadium from the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) on a long-term basis. An ICL team headed by Kiran More met municipal commissioner I P Gautam recently. Gautam later said that the “ICL had suggested that it would use the stadium for a certain period every year, and would spend an additional Rs 10crore, besides the paying rent, for the development and maintenance of the stadium.” He also added that said the proposed MoU would not impact the AMC’s rights over the stadium. More, for his part, confirmed the meeting but refused to divulge the details.
